Bangkok itinerary: 3 days of temples, markets and street food

Bangkok is huge and often gridlocked: the secret is to organise each day by zone and use the Skytrain and river boats instead of taxis stuck in traffic. 🛕

Day 1 — Old city: Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun

Head to Rattanakosin. Start early at the Grand Palace, walk to Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha), then cross the river by boat to Wat Arun for sunset. Dress code applies (shoulders and knees covered).

Day 2 — Markets, Jim Thompson and a rooftop

Morning (weekend): the Chatuchak market; otherwise the Jim Thompson House and the Siam area. Finish with a rooftop bar at sunset.

Day 3 — Chinatown and street food

An evening in Yaowarat (Chinatown), one of the world's best spots for street food. During the day, add the Thonburi canals by boat, or a day trip (floating market, Ayutthaya).

The logic: by zone, with the right transport

The Bangkok mistake: a temple in the west, a mall in the centre and a market in the north on the same day. Group by area and use the BTS/MRT and boats. Start by exporting your favourites or pasting your list.

With MyFavsMap you visualise your Bangkok spots, filter (temples, street food, rooftops…) and build your 3 days by zone.
